As increasingly more and more companies join the bandwagon of corporate America banning the president from their platforms (YouTube being the latest entrant) and halting PAC donations, many Big Business critics are urging company executives to seize this moment as an opportunity to go the extra mile and follow in the footsteps of IBM: abolish corporate PACs to candidates for once and for all. “The public views these news releases not necessarily as responsible political participation but as evidence — receipts — of a corrupt system,” reports Andrew Ross Sorkin of The New York Times.
