Looking for a great read this weekend? Marker’s editorial team has compiled a list of some of the great articles on Medium that we’ve been reading and talking about. Enjoy your weekend and happy reading (and highlighting!).

After Quibi’s announcement this week that it was shutting down after exploring all possible avenues to make its business viable, it’s been easy to find voices crowing about how they saw its demise coming. But I find it much more interesting to read perspectives that were bullish on Quibi’s prospects despite the early signs of trouble. Mike Raab’s piece in OneZero back in May took a clear-eyed view of the company’s challenges, but argued that Katzenberg and Whitman would be able to iterate their way out of them. With short-form video thriving on platforms like TikTok, Snap, and YouTube, why couldn’t they make it work on Quibi?
