“You shouldn’t be too surprised if you end up finding ‘Frosty the Snowman’ tucked behind Amazon Prime Video’s paywall or ‘Rudolph the Red-Nose Reindeer’ at Netflix.”

Good grief: For the first time since initially airing in 1965, the Charlie Brown holiday specials have been pulled from network TV. Instead, you’ll have to turn to their new owner, Apple, which bought up the Peanuts’ Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas TV specials for its Apple TV+ service. For Joshua N. Miller, this is more than just a streaming wars tactic — it’s a crushing forced separation from yet another slice of iconic pop culture nostalgia. And if Snoopy and the gang can be bought up and hidden behind a login screen or paywall, you better believe there will be more.
